My father, John J. DeRose, was a classical guitarist who studied under Andrés Segovia in Spain. In his lifetime (1921-1975), he mastered several instruments, but by far his favorite was the guitar.

During his career, John J. DeRose recorded and toured with Sammy Davis, Jr.. His guitar work is featured throughout Sammy Davis, Jr.'s "That's All!" (1967, Rhino Records) and Francis Ford Copolla's masterpiece, "The Godfather".
